Business schools sited outside major commercial centres compensate with residencies, treks and flown-in speakers. These are good substitutes for something that a central-city school gets by default.
When a practitioner can reach a seminar room in twenty minutes, the marginal cost of involving them collapses, and involvement stops being an event. Students meet working professionals as a routine feature of term rather than as a highlight.
The same logic applies to recruitment, part-time project work and alumni contact. Density compounds, and it is the single hardest advantage for a competing institution to buy.
